Analytics

Website analytic tools are corporate services that measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Climate Smart Advisors website, by providing information to the website administrators, and to the project Consortium about how end-users use the project website, how often, for how long, which webpages and functionalities are most frequently visited, etc.

Information collected about user engagement, and provided to the website administrators and project Consortium, are anonymous, meaning that information about the users like time of visit, duration of visit, pages visited, etc., are not connected with user names, surnames, email addresses, and other personal data.

IP address and device ID

When you access a Climate Smart Advisors website, representatives of the project Consortium receive as an essential technical requirement the Internet Protocol address (IP address) or the device ID of the device used to access the website.

Without this information, you will not be able to establish a technical connection between your devices and the server infrastructure maintained by the website administrators and therefore will not be able to access the Climate Smart Advisors website.

The Climate Smart Advisors project only keeps this information for the time necessary to fulfill the request, namely for the duration of the browsing session. In addition, IP addresses and device IDs might be saved for one year or longer in the log files, for security or other purposes.

Cookies and third parties

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. First-party cookies are cookies set by the website you’re visiting. Only that website can read them. In addition, a website might potentially use external services, which also set their own cookies, known as third-party cookies. Persistent cookies are cookies saved on your computer and that are not deleted automatically when you quit your browser, unlike a session cookie, which is deleted when you quit your browser.

The purpose of cookies is to enable the site to remember your preferences (such as user name, language, etc.) for a certain period of time and in that way makes website usage for users more easy and convenient. That way, you don’t have to re-enter data when browsing around the site during the same visit. Cookies can also be used to establish anonymized statistics about the browsing experience on the website.

Climate Smart Advisors website might use “first-party cookies”. These are cookies set and controlled by the Climate Smart Advisors project representatives, not by any external organisation.

Safeguarding information

To ensure that website data remains safe, everything is hosted at BioSense Institute (BIOS) owned Data Center. As with most others, BioSense Data Center has a backup power supply in case of electricity power cuts supported by UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and power aggregates, a fire protection system, and protected physical access to the server space, accessible only by authorized BioSense Institute employees. Virtual access to the database and servers is possible only via SSH client (Secure Shell) network communication protocol that enables two computers to communicate. Access is possible only from specific web addresses while authentication is done by SSH keys.

Communication between web browsers and servers for the website domain is done exclusively by HTTPS protocols (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure), with Let’s Encrypt TLS (Transport Layer Security) Certificate. TLS is an authentication and security protocol widely implemented in browsers and Web servers, while Let’s Encrypt is a free, open certificate authority provided by ISRG (Internet Security Research Group).

The Climate Smart Advisors project will keep the personal data of the users for the period necessary for the accomplishment of the purposes for which they were collected.

Other data recipients

The personal data of the user may be communicated to a suitable service provider contracted by the Climate Smart Advisors project, which will treat the data exclusively for the purposes established by the Climate Smart Advisors project and in compliance with the instructions issued by the Climate Smart Advisors project, strictly complying with the legal rules on data protection information security and other applicable standards, pursuant to a written agreement between the parties.

Except for contractual agreements, the Climate Smart Advisors project will only share the collected information with third parties when legally required to do so.

The Climate Smart Advisors project will process user data in its entirety within the territory of the European Economic Area (EEA) and therefore does not provide for any international transfer of data.

Your rights as a data subject

If any of your personal data is given and collected by the website, you have the right to obtain access to the personal data held by the Climate Smart Advisors about you and to request its rectification or erasure, or restriction of processing or, where applicable, the right to object to processing or the right to data portability. Where the processing is based on your consent or explicit consent, you also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

For any request concerning the processing of your personal data, we invite you to contact the operational controller responsible, at the following email address: climatesmartadvisors[at]biosense.rs
