Laurène Lebelt

Co-Lead, Agrifood Systems Team (Climate KIC)

Laurène Lebelt is trained in environmental policy and environmental science and co-leads Climate KIC’s Agrifood Systems team within the “Resilient and Climate-Neutral Regions” cluster.

She works on land use, agriculture, and nature-based solutions across EU projects that support systems transformation and collaboration between research, policy, and value chain actors.

Her expertise includes incentive and reward mechanisms for climate-smart agriculture, scaling effective approaches, and developing synergies across initiatives.

Dr Carl Erik Schou Larsen

Executive Secretary, Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS)

Dr Carl Erik Schou Larsen serves as the Executive Secretary for the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS), where he leads and oversees its global mandate. In his capacity as Executive Secretary, he focuses on strengthening and expanding GFRAS’ global network and partnerships, as well as supporting efforts to secure funding for the network.

He holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Tropical Animal Husbandry from the University of Copenhagen, as well as a Master of Public Administration degree from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.

Previously, he worked as a Senior Agricultural Education consultant, mainly for the World Bank, as well as FAO’s Investment Centre.

Dr Fanos Birke

Expert in Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS)

Dr Fanos Birke has designed and led impactful training programs for practitioners and policymakers, with a particular focus on strengthening Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS).

Her expertise has contributed to advancing advisory systems and strengthening AKIS across Europe.

Dr Birke has contributed to international initiatives on advisory services and AKIS through collaborations with organizations such as GIZ and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI).

She holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Hohenheim, Germany.
