Description

The main objectives for the upcoming years include exploring different measures for optimal nitrogen utilization on farms and determining suitable cover crops for specific crops, considering various factors like soil type, nitrogen release, soil health, and disease pressure. To achieve these goals, the group, consisting of advisors from three different Dutch organizations with diverse expertise, will engage in farm visits, expert talks, reflection sessions and farmer invitations.

Objectives

During the 2 years of the CoP, we aim to learn about at least 5 different measures for optimal nitrogen utilization on the farm. During the 2 years of the CoP, we aim to determine which cover crops are most suitable for the following crops, taking into account soil type, nitrogen release, soil health, and disease pressure: Potatoes, onions, carrots, sugar beets, corn.
