Description

The aim of the COP is, on the one hand, to understand the agricultural practices that affect carbon sequestration and soil biodiversity, and, on the other hand, those that promote forage yields, in order to gain a better understanding of the synergies and trade-offs between carbon sequestration/soil health and forage production. The aim is to be able to advise livestock farmers on their agronomic practices whilst taking into account the impact on environmental factors such as carbon sequestration and soil biodiversity.

Objectives

Understanding the synergies and conflicts between agronomic practices (fertilisation, tillage, crop rotation), soil fertility and carbon sequestration

Understanding the key issues for farmers regarding fertilisation: storage capacity, application periods, agronomic potential, available manure, and forage strategy (expected yield)

Linking agronomic practices (fertilisation, tillage, crop rotation), soil fertility and forage yields in carbon advisory services
