Description

This Community of Practice aims to strengthen the capacity of advisors to effectively support dairy farmers in developing and implementing climate pathways towards low-carbon and climate-resilient farming systems. Building on the Klimrek tool, the CoP focuses on bridging the gap between farm-level assessments and actionable, tailored advice.

Through peer learning, practical exchange and joint exploration, advisors will deepen their understanding of climate pathways in dairy farming and improve their ability to translate results into concrete, farm-specific strategies. The CoP will provide a space to share experiences, test approaches, and reflect on challenges related to advising farmers on climate action.

Particular attention will be given to improving advisory and coaching skills, ensuring that climate advice is not only technically sound, but also feasible, relevant and accepted by farmers.

By doing so, this CoP aims to contribute to more effective, practice-oriented climate advisory services and to support dairy farmers in their transition towards more sustainable and climate-smart production systems.

Objectives

  1. Strengthen the capacity of advisors to support dairy farmers in developing and implementing climate pathways towards low-carbon and climate-resilient farming systems
  2. Improve the translation of farm-level assessments (e.g. Klimrek) into concrete, tailored and actionable climate advice
  3. Enhance advisory and coaching skills to effectively guide farmers in adopting climate-smart practices
  4. Foster collaboration and peer learning among advisors to improve the quality and impact of climate advisory in the dairy sector
